Josh Reddick continues to hit well at Class A Greenville.

The former South Effingham High School star leads the Boston Red Sox’ farm team Greenville in batting with a .318 average.

He also leads the team with a .557 slugging percentage and is second in home runs with 14.
Reddick went 2-for-5 with 3 RBIs Thursday in the team’s 6-5 loss at Lake County.

In his past 10 games, he is batting .317 with five home runs and 18 RBIs.
Greenville is 18-23, 8-1/2 games out of first place in the South Atlantic League.

Austin Chambliss
Fellow former Mustang Austin Chambliss is 3-2 with a 6.75 ERA for the Tri-City Dust Devils in the Northwest League.

He got the final out in the fifth inning and pitched the entire sixth inning in Tri-City’s 7-4 win over Boise on Thursday.

In the outing, he gave up a run, but struck out two batters.

In 14 games, he has 21 strikeouts for the Colorado Rockies’ Class A affiliate. Tri-City is 18-25, two games out of first place.

Jason Shiell
Rincon resident Jason Shiell accepted assignment from the Kansas City Royals and is back at their Triple-A Omaha farm club.

He has not pitched since July 23, when he pitched four scoreless innings.

In 24 games with Omaha, he is 1-4 with a 4.70 ERA and 39 strikeouts.
