Strong showing for Collum at nationals

South Effingham High School senior Robbie Collum went 4-2 for Team Georgia at the ASICS/Vaughn Cadet and Junior National wrestling tournament in Fargo, N.D.

Wrestling in the 140 juniors in the freestyle competition, Collum, the reigning state Class AAAA champion, pinned Jeffrey Wilson of Louisiana in his first match and then pinned Kenneth Banning of Alaska in his second match.

He beat Evan Robinson of Massachusetts by decision next and pinned Michael Carpenter, a multiple Montana state champion, next for his final victory.

Collum went 2-2 in the Greco-Roman competition at Nationals in Fargo.
