Team Georgia Blue takes 4th at USA East

Team Georgia Blue completed its play in the USA Baseball U16 East championships, losing in the bronze medal game 13-9 in nine innings to South Florida Elite Black on Saturday.
 
Team Georgia Blue, comprised of players across south Georgia, included Cal Baker of Effingham County High School and Dylan Griffin of South Effingham High School. Baker and Griffin each started the final seven games of the tourney for Team Georgia Blue, which was seeded 25th.
 
The Blue team, one of three Georgia all-star squads, started Friday with a 7-5 win over the Florida Stars before falling 15-3 to Team Worth Florida.
 
The Blue team beat Team Orlando 7-3 late Thursday afternoon after beating Team Georgia Red 5-1 Thursday morning.
 
CCB, from northern California, beat Team Worth Florida 10-0 in the championship game.
