The Georgia Thunder 12 and under girls fastpitch team captured the World Fastpitch Connection State Tournament championship in Dublin last weekend.

In the first game against Southern Explosion, center fielder Jordan Fogle tripled to center with two outs in the last inning to drive in the tying run.

Catcher Ansley Brown singled to center to drive in Fogle with the winning run in a 7-6 victory.

In the second game, shortstop Taylor Ross tripled to right field in the last inning to plate the tying run, and Brown followed with a run-scoring single to left field for a 4-3 win.

Morgan Duff hit a grand slam and got the win in the circle in the championship game as the Thunder beat the Brunswick Stingray 5-3.

Adding timely hitting, defense and stolen bases were Dani Heald, Mallorie Boswell, Samantha Hartley, Loren Moss, MaKenzie Kessler and Josey Denney.
