RICHMOND HILL -- The South Effingham girls couldn't overcome a poor shooting Thursday night and lost to Richmond Hill 45-29 in the first round of the Region 2-AAAAAA tournament.

The sixth-seeded Mustangs went more than 11 minutes without a field goal after making the first basket of the game. RHHS went on a 16-2 run during the drought and built a 16-4 lead.

SEHS, which finished its season with a 7-16 record, never got closer than seven the rest of the way.

Senior Melanie Zeigler led the Mustangs with nine points and 15 rebounds. Kay'Mar Griffin had eight points.
