SPRINGFIELD -- Steady growth in the aerospace sector over the past six years has prompted a local aerospace parts manufacturer to expand its footprint in Effingham County.

AeroDynamic Aviation Inc., a supplier of subassembly interior parts for a regional luxury aircraft manufacturer, has announced the acquisition of a 17-acre site on Ga. Hwy 21 in Springfield  to quadruple its footprint from 9,000 to 40,000 square feet. This expansion will allow AeroDynamic to increase production and add new machines and capabilities to its product line and should be complete by the summer of 2021.

Since AeroDynamic opened its doors in 2014, the company has grown from nine employees and three machines to 42 employees and 10 machines. This expansion will allow AeroDynamic to comfortably increase employment to 75 and it could potentially grow to 150 full-time positions at this new facility.

“We wanted to plan for future growth,” said Johnny Garmon, chief analytics officer. “We are invested in Effingham County and want to make sure that we have room to grow into our new facility and expand beyond that if needed.”

“The new facility will allow us to keep up with the growth in sales we’ve seen over the past 6 years, and to provide a space where our employees can continue to produce the quality workmanship that our customers have come to expect from us,” noted Chris Burnsed, CEO. “I was born and raised in Effingham County and, to me, there was no other place that I would want to establish and grow my business. The talent we have here, and the work ethic you find in the labor force is unmatched, and that is why we are so invested in this community.”

“We are fortunate to have people like Chris and Johnny in our community who are willing to continue to invest and create a life for themselves and their employees right here in Effingham County,” said Brandt Herndon, CEO of the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. “Success stories like these are not uncommon in our community, but they are absolutely what make Effingham County unique.”
