The 12th annual Celebrate AASU Day will take place Wednesday.

There will be games, international cuisine and a plant sale. New this year is a U.S. Coast Guard flyover at noon.

The event is free and the public is invited.

The day’s highlights include:
noon
U.S. Coast Guard Flyover

noon-6 p.m.
Free Fun Time Games: mechanical bull ride, trampoline, rock wall, basketball 4-in-1, and bounce and obstacle course.
Location of all games is in the quadrangle between Burnett Hall the Lane Library

12:15 p.m.
AASU Cheerleaders perform — Lane Library Lawn

12:20 p.m.
AASU Jazz Combo — Jenkins Hall portico

12:30-3:30 p.m.
Exotic animals display — Shearouse Plaza

2 p.m.
Announcement of booth award winners — Jenkins portico

4 p.m.
Mechanical bull riding competition — in the quad closest to Burnett Hall.

After more than 40 years with Effingham County Schools, CeCe Nixon is retiring, leaving behind a quiet legacy of excellence, compassion and steady leadership. From her beginnings as a kindergarten paraprofessional to her vital role in the district’s testing office, Nixon has impacted generations of students and educators with her work ethic, professionalism and heart.
