Area residents graduate from Mercer

Mercer University held nine commencements during May, with more than 1,500 students participating. On May 12, the University’s Macon commencement for the College of Liberal Arts, Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, School of Engineering, Townsend School of Music and Tift College of Education was held in the University Center, with an estimated 3,000 graduates and guests in attendance.

Locally, Katie Elaine Still of Guyton graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English/women’s and gender studies and Ashley Nicole Miles of Bloomingdale received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in psychology.

Founded in 1833, Mercer University is a dynamic and comprehensive center of undergraduate, graduate and professional education. The University has 7,300 students; 11 schools and colleges; major campuses in Macon and Atlanta; four regional academic centers across the state; a university press; two teaching hospitals; educational partnerships with Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and Piedmont Healthcare; an engineering research center; performing arts center; and a NCAA Division 1 athletic program.
