Members of the Effingham County High School Art Club held its first Art Charity Night at Baibry’s Cafe on Dec. 4.

The sale raised over $700 and Baibry’s donated their profits from food sales from 6-9 p.m. to the group for another $600. Thrivent Financial For Lutherans also agreed to donate $1,000 if the Art Club raises $3,000.

Proceeds from the event will be used to buy Christmas presents for less fortunate students in Effingham County.

The sale featured jewelry, ceramics and miniature paintings, provided by ECHS students in Donna Holder’s drawing and ceramics classes and by the National Art Honors Society, advised by Holder.
