State Rep. Jon Burns recently spoke about leadership to the Effingham County High School Future Business Leaders of America.
He explained what being a representative is like and some of his duties and responsibilities while he is in Atlanta and here at home. He discussed several of the committees that he serves on and how important they are to him.
Burns shared his experience as a leader in his community and as a businessman/entrepreneur, as well as how important family is to him. He talked about technical schools in the area such as Ogeechee Tech and Savannah Tech and the importance of students pursuing higher education after graduating from high school. He shared the latest information concerning the HOPE Scholarship program, which sparked a great deal of interest among the FBLA members.
