SAVANNAH – “The Masterpiece Luncheon Lecture Series” presented by Celia Dunn Sotheby’s International Realty donated funds raised from two events to Savannah Technical College’s annual fund.

Ticket sales from the luncheon from both September and March lectures will go toward the college’s foundation.  Dunn presented the check to Dr. C.B Rathburn.

“We are so fortunate to be able to work with such generous people from the communities we serve,” said Melinda Laager, executive director of the Foundation. “Ms. Dunn has been an incredible advocate of the college and we can’t thank her enough for her continued support of our mission.”

Dunn is a member of the Savannah Technical College Foundation.

The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
