Kidsville News, a place for young local artists to showcase their work

Local Effingham County elementary school-aged students have found a place to showcase their art work.

Each month children submit their drawings and stories to be published in Kidsville News. Teachers and school administrators send in photos of special activities that have taken place at the school. All of this is to make each issue of the children’s newspaper, “Effingham County’s Fun Family Newspaper.”

Kidsville News came to Effingham in the fall of 2006. Since that time, it has been awarded as a 2008 Parents’ Choice approved award winner.

Kidsville News has become a vital part of some classrooms. It is distributed free to all students in kindergarten through fifth grade classrooms. This is made possible by the monthly sponsors, Georgia Pacific, Effingham Hospital, Ratchford and Rafter, GeoVista, Walmart, Oatland Island and the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
