WILKES-BARRE, Penn.—Bibiana Krall of Springfield was awarded a Pay it Forward scholarship to enter the Wilkes University graduate creative writing program.

Wilkes University creative writing faculty and program alumni give a $2,500 award to a writer who they feel would be an excellent fit for the program. Wilkes faculty member David Poyer awarded the scholarship to Krall. This one-time payment is used to offset tuition during the students first term of study. Krall entered the program in January 2016.

The Wilkes University graduate creative writing program is an accredited, nationally recognized low-residency program offering both a M.A. and a M.F.A. in creative writing with five areas of concentration: fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, screenwriting, playwriting, publishing and documentary film. The program is offered in a weekender format or in a format in which students spend eight-day residencies in January and June on campus and complete the project semesters online.
