Two students from South Effingham Elementary submitted the county’s winning posters as part of the 2007 Georgia School Bus Safety Week held Sept. 17-22.

Jace Thames, a third grader, and Ella Grace Higdon, a kindergartener, created original posters expressing the contest theme, “Stop on Red, Kids Ahead.”

The posters were forwarded to the Georgia Department of Transportation where they will be judged by prominent individuals in the fields of elementary education, safety and art.

The winning poster will be entered in the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest.
