Local students graduate, earn honors from CSU
COLUMBUS — Two students from Effingham County graduated with honors from Columbus State University.
Kalyn Todd of Springfield graduated summa cum laude from CSU with a bachelor of music degree in music education (instrumental – winds/percussion/keyboard).
Manuel Ramos of Springfield graduated summa cum laude from CSU with a bachelor of music degree in music performance (instrumental).
Ramos also earned a place on CSU’s president’s list for the 2013 spring semester.
Ramos, who is majoring in music performance, made the list for achieving a semester grade-point average of at least 3.80. The president’s list represents the pinnacle of academic achievement at Columbus State.
Columbus State enrolls more than 8,300 students in nationally distinctive programs in the arts, education, business, nursing and more. CSU offers a wide variety of degree programs, from online degrees, which are ranked among the best nationwide, to a doctorate in education.
Houston graduates from Charleston Southern
Gabrielle Dominic Houston from Springfield graduated from Charleston Southern University with a bachelor of science in psychology degree.
The commencement ceremony took place May 4 at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Gordon receives degree from WPI
WORCESTER, Mass. — Jeanine Gordon of Rincon was awarded a master of business administration degree during Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s commencement ceremony on May 11.
Gordon was among the 1,165 students to receive degrees (781 bachelor’s degrees, 358 masters and 26 Ph.D.s) during the ceremony on the WPI quadrangle.
