Local students earn Ga. Southwestern scholarships

AMERICUS—The following students received scholarships from Georgia Southwestern State University for the 2015-16 academic year and were among nearly 350 scholarship recipients.

Timothy Head of Guyton received the FDT Wheatley Leadership Scholarship and was named a FDT Wheatley scholar.

Rebecca Nelson of Bloomingdale received the Westbrook Scholarship.

Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, is a public, four-year University of the University System of Georgia with nearly 3,000 students.
