Locals earn Ga. Tech honors

ATLANTA — Eight students from Effingham County attained academic honors for fall 2014 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Two students earned the distinction of faculty honors:

Theresa Dominy of Rincon

Brandon Stone of Rincon

The faculty honors designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

Six students were named to the dean’s list:

Michael Pinder of Guyton

Dylan Hutcheson of Rincon

Rishi Patel of Rincon

Robert Rogers of Rincon

Joseph Thompson of Rincon

Nathan McDonald of Springfield

Dean’s list designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.

From her beginnings as a kindergarten paraprofessional to her vital role in the district’s testing office, Nixon has impacted generations of students and educators with her work ethic, professionalism and heart.
