Surrounded by friends and well-wishers, Mose Mock received congratulations for his victory in Tuesday night’s Effingham County Board of Education District 4 seat.
 
Mock, a retired teacher, beat incumbent James Dasher 1,880-656, capturing 74.1 percent of the vote.
 
“I was flush with joy, excitement, humbleness and fatigue,” said Mock, whose father also once served on the school board. “I’m so humbled. So many people encouraged me and supported me.
