Mr. and Mrs. L.D. (Dick) Ambrose are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 4, 1963, at the First Baptist Church of Rincon, with Rev. Barry Owens officiating.

Dick retired in 2000 from CSX Transportation with 30 years of service. Sudelle is the former Sudelle Sanders of Rincon. She retired in 2004 from the Effingham County Board of Education with 15 years of service.

The couple has two children, Mitchell (Amy) Ambrose of Rincon and Cassy (Bobby) Tippins of Harlem. They have three grandchildren, Joshua and Mallory Ambrose and Mason Tippins.

Dick and Sudelle are very active in their church, community and SCV camp. They enjoy camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

A drop-in reception will be held in their honor on Saturday, April 27, from 2-4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Rincon Memorial Chapel social hall. All friends and family are invited to attend. The family requests no gifts, only your presence, prayers and blessings.
