Edward and Bonnie Horne

Edward and Bonnie Horne celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month. They were married June 8, 1963, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at Silk Hope Baptist Church in Savannah.

The late Rev. Aulbert Allen officiated the ceremony.

Edward is retired from UPS as a driver after 31 years of service. Bonnie is retired from Chatham County as a school bus driver after 16 years of service.

They are the dedicated and loving parents and grandparents to three children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Their children are Eddie (Trish) Horne, Mark (Tammi) Horne and Tera (Wesley) Marsh. Grandchildren are Daylan Horne, Corey Horne, Chloe Horne, Chelsea Horne, Chad Wilson, Shane Wilson, Blake Marsh and Ella Marsh. Great-grandchildren are Kaybre and Kobe Wilson, and Zoe Billotte.

They celebrated their anniversary with their children and grandchildren in a private celebration hosted by their children at Pearl’s Salt Water Grille in Savannah.

They are current members of First Baptist Church in Rincon.

God gave them something no one could ever take away, their love for each other. The respect and support they share shows that the smartest thing they ever did was to marry each other.
