Tebeaus celebrate 60 years

Willie M. “Billy” and Jewell Pevey Tebeau, who celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 9, will be honored at a reception in the social hall of Guyton Christian Church on Nov. 25. The reception, given by their children, will be held from 3-5 p.m., and all friends and relatives are invited to attend. No gifts please.

The Tebeaus were married on Nov. 9, 1947, at Guyton Christian Church. The Rev. A.T. Autry and Rev. Thomas Weeks officiated.

They are both natives of Effingham County. Mr. Tebeau is a Navy veteran who later worked as a baker and retired from the Gulf Life Insurance Company with 35 years of service. Mrs. Tebeau was a homemaker who was employed at Futrelle’s Store, Thompson’s Store and Thompson’s IGA over a period of 54 years. Together, the Tebeaus also operated a family business, Tebeau’s Donut Shop, for a number of years.

Their children are Marvin and Sandy Tebeau of Carson City, Nev., Judy and Ray Zittrouer of Springfield, and Edie and
A#l Beiner of Tallahassee, Fla. They are blessed with six grandchildren.
