Community Holy Week services start Monday

The public is invited to the annual Rincon Community Holy Week Services, March 25-29, at First Baptist Church of Rincon. Services begin at 12:05 p.m. at conclude at 12:30 p.m. each day in the sanctuary, followed by a light lunch in the church’s Memorial Chapel.

This year’s theme is "The Days of Holy Week." Below is the schedule of guest preachers and musicians:

March 25: "Day of Cleansing" (Mark 11:12-19). Rev. Scott Tageson, Rincon First Christian Church.

Music: Lisa Knott, Maranatha Assembly of God.

March 26: "Day of Confrontation" (Mark 11:20 – 14:11). Rev. Francisco Rodriguez, Rincon Hispanic Baptist Mission.

Music: Renee Summitt, Rincon Church of God.

March 27: "Day of Anointing" (Mark 14:1-11). Rev. Carol Morgan, Rincon United Methodist Church.

Music: Journeymen of Praise, Rincon United Methodist Church.

March 28: "Day of the New Covenant" (Mark 14:12-42). Rev. Charles Hodges, Grace Community Church.

Music: Greg Hartzog, First Baptist Church of Rincon.

March 29: "Day of Sacrifice" (Mark 14:43 – 15:47). Rev. Greg Brunson, Church of the Harvest.

Music: Annelle Mansfield, Church of the Harvest.

The public also is invited to the Rincon Community Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. on Easter Sunday, March 31, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church Outdoor amphitheater at the eastern end of Ebenezer Road near the Savannah River. Park at the church and follow the luminaries down the hill. Dr. Bob Rogers, pastor of First Baptist Church of Rincon, will bring a dramatic monologue of the apostle John coming from the empty tomb. There will be refreshments afterwards and the historic Jerusalem Lutheran Church will be open to visitors.
