“Divine Creation,” the Youth Choir from First United Methodist Church in Dacula, will present a free concert June 17 at the Family Life Center of Rincon UMC, 810 Fort Howard Road.
 

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. after a supper which will be served at 6 p.m.

“Divine Creation” is composed of 17 youth from grades six to 12. Formed two years ago, the choir is directed by Kathy Gonsalves. Their program is entitled “In the Name of the Lord,” and is made up of skits, scriptures and songs incorporating various titles for Jesus, as well as examples of things people do in His name. The group has performed for local nursing homes around Dacula in north Georgia and has done musicals at its church, but this is the first road trip. In addition to their appearance in Rincon, they will be performing at two assisted living facilities in Savannah. Then they will take some time to enjoy the beach at Tybee, Gonsalves said.

The program and supper are open to the community, and everyone is invited to enjoy this special evening. There is no admission charge, but a love offering will be collected to offset the group’s travel expenses.
