The congregation has been enjoying its new worship center and education center for a while, but the Goshen Road Baptist Church wants the rest of the community to share in its joy.

The church is holding a dedication service for its worship center and educational facilities Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

“We want to get the word out so everybody who would like to can come and see the new facility,” said Pastor Frankie Hodges.

The building took one year to complete and it’s 13,000 square feet.

“It was closer to two and a half years from initial planning stages to final completion,” Hodges said. “It’s a tremendous blessing,” Hodges said.

“We’ve had continuous, steady growth since we’ve been in the new building. We were so close quartered in the existing building. Now, we’ve been able to enjoy the new room and make room for a lot more people. We’re very fortunate and very blessed. We’re very happy about the new room.”

The church wanted to hold its dedication ceremony sooner but the onset of summer, and the vacations that ensued prompted the church to hold off.

“We’ve been using it a few months now,” Hodges said.

They also scheduled the Sunday dedication service and open house to follow to accommodate the service schedules of any other churches and their members who wish to come.

The church is on Goshen Road, about two and a half miles from Highway 21.
