More than 80 children and adults took part in the Zion Lutheran Church VBS program.

The children brought in canned food during the week and the cans were used to construct a lighthouse to show: Jesus is the Light of the World. When the tower reached a height of six feet, Alex Peth, youth leader, dyed his hair purple.

The canned food was donated to the Manna House.

The week ended with a closing program Friday night where the children sang beach and surf themed songs and shared a hot  dog dinner with their family and friends.
