Blues, barbecue and more coming to River Street

The Savannah Riverfront is hosting the first Blues, Jazz & BBQ festival on River Street. Deep southern blues, smooth jazz and smoky barbecue will be served up Friday through Sunday, with barbecue provided by Wet Willie’s, Bayou Café, Ma-Maw’s BBQ, Wiley’s Championship BBQ, Notch 8 BBQ, A&D Catering and more.


The First Friday Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. Rousakis Plaza will be full of artists, music and fun for the entire family. Live entertainment will take place on the Arbor Stage and feature nine groups of regional blues and jazz musicians.


The fifth annual Island Car Enthusiasts car club show will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. This hot rod show benefits Horsin’ Around, a non-profit whose mission is to enhance the development, both physically and mentally, of special needs individuals utilizing the unique assets provided by horseback riding and human interaction.


Festival hours are noon-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday. This year’s festival series is hosted by the Savannah Riverfront and sponsored by Verizon Wireless, Southern Eagle Distributing, Savannah Coca-Cola, Wet Willie’s, and Adventure Radio.
