Citizens will have the opportunity to experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure on Hunter Army Airfield on Saturday and Sunday when Hunter Army Airfield conducts its first Red, White and Blue hot-air balloon festival.

The public is invited to enjoy the unique experience of not only seeing the majesty of 18 hot-air balloons in all their glory positioned on the Hunter flight line, but also the thrilling chance to go up in them and experience the breath-taking views.

Admission to the event is free and the cost of going up in a tethered hot air balloon is $5. Balloons will achieve an altitude of 100 feet.

In addition to the balloons, those in attendance can enjoy carnival games, inflatable rides for children, military equipment on display and live entertainment. Food vendors will be on location.

Times for the festival are 6-10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 3-10 p.m. on Saturday. The tethered hot-air balloon rides are only available on the mornings of each day.
