Oatland Island holds an Art Encounter

SAVANNAH — Pack up the kids and a picnic lunch on March 21 for the first annual “Art Encounter” at Oatland Island Wildlife Center.

Visitors will not only be able to enjoy the Native Animal Nature Trail at Oatland, but also a nature oriented art show on the beautiful grounds surrounding Oatland’s historic main building. Unique art work and natural crafts such as paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, gourds, wood carvings and more will compliment one of Savannah’s natural jewels: Oatland Island Wildlife Center.

Mary Ingalls, stained glass artist from Tybee Island has organized a show with popular Savannah area artists such as Sue Gouse, Nancy Adams, Michael Weinman, Dave Neidel, Rebecca Rice, Samantha Claar, Jane Neville, Zavier Baron, David and Katherine Biddle, Kristine Kennedy, Katheryn Reichert, Bennie Waddell and Malka Yeager.

A portion of the proceeds will be contributed to Oatland. Admission is $5 per adult and $3 for children (age 4-17), military and seniors. The Art Encounter is free with admission to Oatland.
