Port Wentworth celebrates spring

The Department of Leisure Services will host the third annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held at Lewis Mobley Park on April 4 starting at 2 p.m.
There will be four fields designed for different age groups, giving everyone a chance to find eggs. There will be moon bounce, raffle prizes, chips and drinks, and the Games 2 U Van with Wii and X-Box games for the kids free of charge.

The Games 2 U van will be making its first ever appearance at the Easter Egg hunt this April. With five televisions and capable of up to 20 players at one time, this is sure to be a great hit for kids of all ages.

There are Wii’s and X-Boxes, strobe lights and speakers inside and outside the van for everyone’s enjoyment.

Then at “Stand Up for America Day” the Games 2 U staff will be offering laser tag for all.

Stand Up for America Day
On April 25, the City of Port Wentworth will host “Stand Up for America Day” parade and festival.

The parade will step off at 10 a.m. and wind through historic downtown Port Wentworth. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be a street rally, where  the 2009 Citizen of the Year is named.

Then starting at 1 p.m., there will be vendors, inflatables, entertainment and video games.

For the second straight year, the Savannah River Spring Classic fishing tournament will have its weigh-in at the festival. Also, as a new attraction, come out and enjoy a game of laser tag for $3 or 4 games for $10, hosted by Games 2 U.

End the night with a street dance featuring Liquid Ginger starting at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30. Don’t miss out on Port Wentworth’s biggest day of the year.
