Shermans March the finale on series

“Southeast Georgia on Our Minds” is a series of community discussions centered on the people, history, culture and literature of Southeast Georgia, sponsored by the Georgia Humanities Council and facilitated by Humanities faculty from Georgia Southern University in partnership with Screven-Jenkins Regional Library System.

The final program in the series takes place on Nov. 27 at the Screven County Library.

Dr. Alan Downs, associate professor of writing at Georgia Southern University presents: “Sherman’s March to the Sea”
Dr. Downs, a published historian and professor, revisits one of the best known events of the Civil War, General Sherman’s campaign that took him through Georgia, to disentangle legend from fact.
