Tybee Island will host the annual 2014 Extreme Volleyball Professionals Beach Bum Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament featuring professional, amateur, coed and junior beach volleyball players May 10 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

This family-friendly beach volleyball tournament includes divisions for youth, juniors and adults. The professional segment will feature the top 10 EVP athletes competing on center court for a $4,000 purse.

Special contests and promotions will be held throughout the tournament to give fans a chance to rub elbows with their favorite players and compete in fun events like “Bump in the Bucket” and “Spike the T-Shirt” for prizes. The EVP Tour is the largest pro-am volleyball attraction in America. The tour travels to 20 key markets across the country from March to October.

The tournament will be held on the beach south of the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion on 15th Street. Space is still available for beach volleyball players. Amateurs are encouraged to register online at www.evptour.com to participate in the tournament. Early registration ends May 8. Contact tournament director Craig Lenniger at (757) 435-4081 or email craig@evptour.com for late registration.
