Diabetes Day to be held at Wild Adventures

The American Diabetes Association will be hosting Diabetes Day at Valdosta theme park, Wild Adventures, for all children and teens with diabetes on Sept. 22.

Every child and teen with diabetes will get in free, and family members get in for a discounted group rate. A free lunch for participants and their families will be provided.

Theme park hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Families will need to check in by 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and there will be a short back to school/advocacy workshop, featuring the American Diabetes Association Advocacy Director Crystal Jackson.

Upon registration, a packet will be mailed to participants with a confirmation letter, directions and information about area hotels. Deadline for registration is Sept. 12.

Wild Adventures Diabetes Day is part of the American Diabetes Association Family Resource Network, educational and social programs for children and families living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
