Looking back at the Effingham County Courthouse
ECH2-21
A historical moment from June 24, 1980, — the removal of the fence around the courthouse. Several of the county’s most experienced political figures got a last look at the fence before it was taken down and stored at the road department until it was sold along with other surplus county material. From left to right are: Tax Commissioner M. W. Bragg, with 35 years of service; Parker Ford, Clerk of Courts, with 20 years of service; and Superintendent of Schools Ernest B. Mingledorff, with 32 years of service. - photo by Photo provided
