Effingham County NAACP plans Emancipation Proclamation Jan. 1

The Effingham County Branch of the NAACP invites the community to its annual Emancipation Proclamation program on Sunday, Jan. at 3 p.m. at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 167 Blandford Road, Rincon.

The Rev. Jonah E. German is the pastor.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Daniella Ann Cook, an accomplished assistant professor in the Department of Instruction and Teacher Education at the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Cook currently teaches courses in equity and community engagement, curriculum studies and secondary social studies methods. 

Please join us at this program of reflection, re-dedication and celebration of heritage.

In addition to remembering and celebrating this momentous proclamation, the elected officers of the Effingham County Branch of the NAACP chapter will be formally installed.
