Open enrollment through the health insurance exchange established by the Affordable Care Act ends Feb. 15.

Effingham Health System is an active participant in the effort to get the community insured. Enrollment opportunities are available right here in the area.

Option 1: Visit the healthcare.gov Web site. This is the federally-supported Web site anyone can use to enroll in a health insurance plan, and a good option for those who are internet savvy and comfortable with an online application process.

Option 2: Make an appointment with a certified applications counselor. Effingham Health System provides onsite assistance every Friday during the enrollment period. Call Melissa Waller at 754-0480 for an appointment.

Option 3: Go to the Savannah Mall or Oglethorpe Mall and look for storefront locations for Bill Lucas Insurance. This is a great option for those needing assistance after normal business hours, and you can shop while you’re at the mall.

Effingham Health System has a certified applications counselor on site each Friday during the open enrollment period to offer onsite assistance to people trying to sign up through the government health care Web site.
