Disneys new Star Wars: Galaxy Edge theme park might be the most immersive Disney experience to date.

The Disney news site Walt Disney World News Today reported this week that Disney filed a patent for technology that will replicate the experience of blaster fire shooting through the air.

While the illusion behind the technology will surely wow guests, the technology itself is quite remarkable in its simplicity. It essentially uses a multitude of mini reflective surfaces that display the blaster fire traveling through space, according to WDWNT.

The patent follows a previously reported patent that could mimic the muzzle flash caused by a blaster being fired, according to WDWNT.

The problem, though, is the technology needs a lot of space to operate.

But, according to WDWNT, this might mean the blaster-fire shots appear in a dark ride, such as the Battle Escape attraction.

Photos have surfaced of a Battle Escape attraction, which will have guests escaping the clutches of the First Order. AT-AT Walkers are rumored to be involved as well.

If it isn't used in the Battle Escape attraction, the technology could be used in some different ways, including putting parkgoers in the middle of battles between Stormtroopers or as part of a stage show, according to Uproxx.

Still, there is no guarantee the technology will pop up at the park, especially not immediately.

Disney announced in late May that Galaxys Edge would open at Disneyland in summer 2019. The Walt Disney World version of the park is set to open in fall 2019, according to the Deseret News.

Disney released a first-look video of the parks construction, which is set to be one of the most detailed and immersive lands ever created in Disney Parks history, according to a Disney representative, who spoke to Travel and Leisure.
