THE LAKE Its that time of year that we all look forward to migration time!

OK, so thats not a thing unless youre a hunter or wildlife expert or ornithological enthusiast, but this video may make migration fans of us all.

This 2-year-old, hidden gem of a video was shot at Lake Massawippi in Quebec, Canada, where thousands upon thousands of snow geese look like theyre gathering for either a Metallica concert or because its on their migration path. (Probably the former.)

The video title states that there are 10,000 geese on the lake, which I thought was probably an exaggeration. However, when I pressed play, I was not only convinced there were at least 10,000 geese, I thought it might actually be all the snow geese in the whole world gathering for their annual goose conference. (Where they learn techniques on how to be meaner and louder, Im sure.)

The real shock of the thing is the incredible noise. All the geese seem to shift at once and take flight in a massive, plague-like hoard. Between the honks of 10,000 beaks and the beats of 20,000 wings in the air, the noise is in the very least awe-inspiring. Indeed, Ill fully admit that my jaw dropped and I watched the video at least three times in a row.

While the video itself may be a little long in the tooth as far as viral internet relevance goes, I dont think its astonishment factor will ever get old.
