Project Ara is Google’s idea to bring smartphones to billions of people around the world who cannot currently afford them. The accompanying infographic shows how its modular construction allows for individual components such as a camera or battery that can be swapped out when broken or out of date rather than the current predicament of having to purchase a whole new phone.
Project Ara, which will be available in 2015 at a base price of $50, has the disruptive capability of ushering in a new era of smartphone manufacturing, allowing people all over the world to have better connections with loved ones and access to the Internet.
