Seven-year-old Alex Pring recently received the surprise of his life when Robert Downey Jr., who plays Tony Stark/Iron Man in several superhero films, presented the young fan with a gift he will never forget.
Alex was born with a partially developed right arm. With the help of Albert Manero, a college student at University of Central Florida, and a team of bionics experts, Downey presented Alex with a new bionic limb.
Dude, its even cooler than I thought, Downey said as Alex tried on the bionic arm.
According to the video, Manero is a college student who builds and donates low-cost 3-D-printed bionic limbs to kids around the world through his organization, Limbitless Solutions. Alex received his first Limbitless Solutions arm in 2014.
We thought that kids just wanted to blend in, Manero said. And that they wanted feel normal, but it turns out its much more about personal identity and expression.
Had the absolute privilege of presenting a brand spanking new 3-D-printed bionic Iron Man arm to Alex, the most dapper 7-year-old Ive ever met, Downey posted on his Facebook.
Downey posted the video on his Facebook page yesterday, and it has already been viewed more than 23 million times.
