(What you won’t find on social media … even if you’re approved as a friend)

  • Born: Canton, Ohio, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, President McKinley, and the First Ladies National Historic Site. (I aced Ohio history, thank you very much.)
  • Status: Happily married to Alfred, my partner, best friend, and overall great guy for putting up with all my commitments.
  • What’s on TV: True crime, CNBC, historical documentaries, or "Ancient Aliens" (don’t judge—the narrator knocks me out faster than melatonin).
  • Most spontaneous thing I have ever done: After school, I packed up and moved more than 700 miles to Savannah for a job in broadcast media.
  • What I drive: A GMC SUV full of campaign signs, suit coats, camping gear, and a change of clothes/tennis shoes—because you never know.
  • What I am reading: Leadership books, political biographies, and finance books. I also have to confess: I am currently listening to "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" on my commute to and from work.
  • Favorite movie: "Uncle Buck," because it reminds me of my dad. He never made pancakes with a shovel, but he absolutely would have tried.
  • Something you would never guess about me: I play the alto saxophone, and yes, I can still whip out a pretty decent warm-up scale.
  • Actress that would play me in a movie: I have absolutely no idea—but I am open to suggestions if Hollywood calls.
  • Favorite thing in my closet: The treasured collection of my late grandpa’s house sweaters.
  • App I can’t live without: Waze—because surviving the Highway 21 commute between Rincon and Savannah should earn you a medal, a parade, and maybe a small tax break.
  • Worst habit: Saying “Sure, I can do that!” before checking my calendar.
  • The one thing I would never do with money: As a financial advisor by profession, I cannot give financial advice here, so I will say this: I would never buy a boat. The maintenance alone is a cautionary tale.
  • Weirdest thing in my fridge: A questionable assortment of specialty sauces I swear I’ll use… and kimchi.
  • On my office walls: Family photos, local landscape pictures, finance charts.
  • One person you’d love to cook for: My Grandma Maxine. She taught me to cook, had the patience of a saint, and I wish I could show her just how much she shaped me. Cooking was her love language, and she loved nothing more than having everyone gathered around the table. Now that most of our kids are on their own or away at college, those moments are fewer and more cherished than ever.
  • Favorite go-to comfort food: Pot roast and mashed potatoes, or Cincinnati chili. Again, don’t judge—it’s an Ohio thing.
  • First thing I do in the morning: Grab the piping-hot cup of coffee my husband hands me to wake up. He makes the best morning coffee.
  • Pet I’d have if anything was possible: An Irish Setter dog. I grew up with my sweet boy, Gaelic (we’re part Irish), and every year I ask my husband and kids for an Irish Setter puppy for my birthday. True story.
  • Most used emoji: 😬
  • First job: Washing dishes and bussing tables at a local restaurant in my hometown, owned by a friend of my dad. I still cherish this experience—it taught me hard work and the value of money and time.
  • What I like about Effingham County: The people. I’ve grown to have a great group of people that I am honored to call friends.
  • Snack I can never say no to: Boiled peanuts or sour cream and onion potato chips.
  • Favorite sports team: SEC — University of Georgia (gooo Dawgs!) • Big Ten — The Ohio State University! O-H!
  • What song always gets me dancing: “Silver Springs” by Fleetwood Mac. Just ask my husband—he will never get away from the sound of the woman that loves him. Never. Ever. 😂
  • Favorite value in others: Authenticity—the real, unapologetic kind—and loyalty.
  • Advice I’d give my teenage self: Stop worrying about what everyone thinks. Be brave, be kind, and don’t overthink everything. Life works out the way God intends it to.
  • Talent I’d most like to have: Professional-level singing.
  • Dream date: Dinner by the water at sunset with Alfred in Sorrento, Italy.
  • Attribute I like best about myself: My determination. Once I’m in, I’m all in.
  • Most ridiculous thing I believed as a kid: Growing up in northeast Ohio, we saw tons of “Watch for Falling Rock” signs. My dad had me and my little sister convinced that “Falling Rock” was a legendary Native American who went missing and that “to this day, people are still searching for him.” We believed it way longer than we should have.
  • And least: That adults knew exactly what they were doing. Spoiler: they don’t!
  • My hero: My mom. She just retired after 47 years of teaching. She was a high school band director and the hardest-working and most caring person I know. But she made me a workaholic. Thanks, Mom!
  • My bucket list: Visit every U.S. state, write a tell-all (IYKYK), and finish turning our backyard into a true oasis.
  • My motto: "Trust God, be brave, stay humble, love deeply, and work to make every place better than you found it."
