The Effingham Community Orchestra performed its 3rd annual holiday concert Dec. 6.

The 44 orchestra members’ show was approximately one hour long and featured 12 pieces of holiday music.  Selections included  “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “The Nutcracker Suite,” “Hallelujah Chorus” and “A Christmas Fantasy in 3/4 Time”.

The children in attendance enjoyed “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman” and “Selections from the Polar Express Soundtrack,” which featured a trombone solo by Tyler Beale.

The cookie sale has become a signature event and fundraiser for the orchestra. The public waited in a line that stretched the length of the gym floor to buy cookies.

The orchestra is on break until it resumes rehearsals in January. It will be open to seating new musicians. Interested musicians should call 772-6468.
