Clyo resident and Armstrong Atlantic State University student Julian Pace was the winner of the 2009 Youth Songwriting Competition at the Savannah Folk Music Festival. Pace’s original ballad “Captive of the Gentle, Gentle Wind” was awarded top prize by the judges, a $500 gift certificate to ARM Music and the opportunity to present his song at the concert at Grayson Stadium. Pace, accompanied his brother Ethan, performs his song. Pace will be one of the judges next year for the competition, which is open to those will will not turn 20 years old by Oct. 1, 2010.  Pace was one of seven finalists this year.
