Two days after nine Charleston firefighters lost their lives while rescuing four civilians during a furniture warehouse fire, the 200 Club of the Coastal Empire board of directors authorized a first “out-of-territory” financial response to the surviving families of the nine heroes.

The Two Hundred Club provides immediate financial assistance to families of fallen police officers and firefighters serving 18 Georgia and two South Carolina counties, located near Savannah.

Anyone wishing to provide additional support may send a check indicating “Charleston Nine” in the memo field to:

The Two Hundred Club of the Coast Empire
P.O. Box 779
Midway, GA  31320

A check will be sent to Charleston with all funds designated as “Charleston Nine.”

The 200 Club of the Coastal Empire was incorporated on Oct. 16, 2000, as a Georgia nonprofit charitable organization 501(c)(3). The board consists of members of the business, law enforcement, judicial, professional, religious and academic communities. The 200 Club is a significant vehicle for expressing community gratitude to the families of our fallen heroes.
