According to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office, just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a log truck hit a utility pole at McCall and Blandford roads. The pole broke and the lines are very low or down.

All through traffic in the area is stopped and will continue to be for several hours, according to conservative estimates.
