Advance voting will begin Aug. 2 and run through Aug. 6 for the general primary election runoffs.

Runoffs will be conducted for the Republican nomination for the Effingham County Board of Commissioners’ 2nd District seat, the Republican bid for the U.S. House 12th District seat, the Republican nominations for governor, attorney general and insurance commissioner and the Republican nomination for the Public Service Commission (Eastern) seat.

The lone Democratic runoff will be for the secretary of state nomination.

Those who did not vote in the July 20 primary can vote in the runoff of their choice. Those who voted in the July 20 primary must cast their ballot in the same party for the runoff.

Advance voting will be held at the Effingham County Board of Elections and Registration office from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The office is at 284 Highway 119 South in Springfield. The runoff will be held Aug. 10.
