Applications for Leadership Effingham sought
Effingham Chamber of Commerce

SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham Chamber of Commerce is kicking off the new year for the Leadership Effingham program.

Applications for this year’s Leadership class are being accepted through Sept. 9. The forms and information are available by contacting the chamber. There are 10 total sessions, starting in October and ending in May.

The Leadership Effingham program has been developed to inform and educate a select group of individuals each year on the inner workings of the county, including municipal governments, education system, hospital, the judicial system, social services, industrial development authority and more.

In addition to the classroom sessions,  members will visit local points of interest related to pertinent subjects.

Each year, the Leadership Effingham program graduates a growing pool of informed and passionate citizens that are motivated to serve as an elected official and as volunteers on local boards and organizations.

Chamber Board of Directors Chairman Joe Marchese encourages local businesses to nominate employees for the new class. He said, “The Leadership program is one of the Chamber’s most important programs, because it educates people in how the county operates and what services are available to the general public.”
