Springfield City Council members may take up the matter of who leaked information about a potential legal action against the city.

Attorney Craig Bonnell asked council members when they received an email from City Manager Brett Bennett about the filing of ante litem notice and to whom they may have related that information. Bonnell also asked them if they considered the disclosure of the ante litem notice to be an ethics violation or an impropriety.

He also asked council members if they intended to refer the matter to the city’s newly-constituted ethics committee.
