GUYTON — South Effingham's Kastin Belogorska is gearing up for her senior season by sharpening skills with Georgia Impact, a high-caliber travel team.
Belogorska has been on various travel ball teams for nearly a decade. She considers the summer competition her “second season."
“I get to travel all over the country (California, Kansas, Virginia, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, South Carolina and Tennessee),” Belogorska said. “This is where college recruiting takes place; (I) make friends from all over the surrounding states rather than just from my town and (I) play to win tournaments and nationals.”
The Lady Mustang is extremely dedicated to South Effingham and enjoys being on the field no matter which team she’s playing for.
“Not only is playing both travel ball and high school ball fun, but it's also important,” Belogorska said. “During both seasons, I get to play alongside some of my closest friends on a competitive level, all while representing something bigger than myself. Playing in both of these seasons gives me a year's worth of time to improve and also a year's worth of fun.
"We only take time off in December, so playing on a highly competitive level during travel ball all spring and summer and then moving straight into high school ball in the fall is important because it helps me progress and improve my skills as a player all year long.”
