Springfield law firm Ratchford and Rafter was named the Effingham County Small Business of the Year at the Effingham Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Summit on Tuesday.

Warren Ratchford is an Effingham native who has been practicing law since 1983. He is the 2004 recipient of the Chamber's John Adam Treutlen Award.

Partner Rick Rafter is a chairman of the Effingham Hospital Board of Trustees and has been practicing law since 2003. He has lived in Clyo since 1987.
