RINCON -- The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority honored the new arrivals and existing industries that have set up shop in Effingham County with its annual reception Dec. 7. Representatives from 16 Effingham industries attended, coming together to represent more than 3,400 people employed in the area.

“We are pleased to honor the companies who have committed to the future by investing in Effingham County and creating thousands of high-quality jobs for our neighbors,” said Brandt Herndon, CEO of Effingham County Industrial Development Authority.

The event recognized companies that have received national accolades, newcomers to the county and companies celebrating milestone anniversaries in Effingham County.

National Accolades

Diamond Concrete Products was commended for its new expansion that has allowed the company to increase its production capacity. This expansion has led to recognition on the national level, as the company was chosen by the National Concrete Pipe Association to be the featured plant for National Concrete Pipe Week.

Effingham Newcomers

Newcomers Bradshaw Home and Sewon America were also recognized. Bradshaw Home announced plans for a new facility in Effingham County in July 2023 and is currently making progress on creating more than 230 jobs in the county. A ribbon cutting for the new facility was held in mid-December.

The Sewon facility is under construction off Old Augusta Road and is the largest economic development investment to date in the city of Rincon. After its completion in late 2024, the facility will employ more than 700 people.

Milestone Anniversaries

Railroad contractor Adams Warnock was honored for more than 40 years of operation in Effingham County.

“We are proud to call Effingham County home,” says Kimball Warnock, President of Adams-Warnock.  “The county’s proximity to major railroad corridors and the Port of Savannah have made it a strategic location for our business to grow and thrive.”

Oglethorpe Power was honored for 20 years in the county, which began in 2003 when the Bobby C. Smith Energy Facility (formerly known as Effingham Power) began commercial operations. The facility was acquired by Oglethorpe Power in 2021 and employs more than 20 people.

The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority remains committed to supporting existing industries and promoting Effingham County as an ideal destination for new businesses. For more information, visit www.effinghamindustry.com.
